content

Whole Blood

We collect, store and provide whole blood for patients who need comprehensive blood replacement, such as in cases of trauma, surgery, or severe blood loss. Whole blood contains all essential components—red and white blood cells, platelets, and plasma—making it ideal for increasing overall blood volume. Stored for up to 35–42 days, it is vital for emergency transfusions and multiple patient treatments through component separation.

content

Packed RBC

We collect, store and provide packed red blood cells (PRBCs) for patients who need increased oxygen-carrying capacity due to conditions like anemia, significant blood loss, or trauma. PRBCs are concentrated red cells with most of the plasma removed, making them ideal for those who need red cell transfusions without excess fluid. These can be stored for up to 42 days and are essential for emergency care, surgeries, and chronic conditions.

content

Platelets

We collect, store and provide platelets for patients who need support in blood clotting, such as those undergoing chemotherapy, surgery, or suffering from bleeding disorders. Platelets are essential for stopping bleeding and are often used in cases of severe trauma or conditions like thrombocytopenia. They can be stored for up to 5–7 days and are critical for patients with low platelet counts or bleeding risks.

content

Fresh Frozen Plasma

We collect, store, and provide Fresh Frozen Plasma (FFP) for patients requiring essential clotting factors and proteins, particularly those with liver disease, massive blood loss, or clotting disorders. FFP contains all the coagulation factors and is critical for managing bleeding during surgeries and trauma cases. Stored at -18°C or colder, FFP can be preserved for up to one year, ensuring immediate availability for transfusions when needed.

content

Single Donor Platelet

Single Donor Platelets (SDP) for patients who require concentrated platelet transfusions, such as those undergoing chemotherapy, major surgeries, or with certain medical conditions like thrombocytopenia. SDP is collected through apheresis from a single donor, ensuring a higher platelet yield and reducing the risk of transfusion reactions. These platelets can be stored for up to 5–7 days and are vital for patients at risk of bleeding or requiring platelet support.

content

Plasmapheresis

We offer plasmapheresis to  patients with autoimmune disorders, neurological conditions, and other diseases requiring the removal of harmful substances from the bloodstream. During the procedure, plasma is separated from blood cells, allowing for the removal of antibodies and toxins. The collected plasma can be stored for further processing or immediate use in therapeutic applications providing essential support for patient recovery and health.

content

Washed RBC

Washed red blood cells (RBCs) for patients who require transfusions with reduced risks of allergic reactions or reactions to plasma proteins. The washing process removes most of the plasma and white blood cells, making it ideal for patients with a history of transfusion reactions or those undergoing hematopoietic stem cell transplants. Washed RBCs can be stored for up to 24 hours after washing and are essential for ensuring patient safety while effectively increasing red blood cell volume.

content

CRYO

Cryoprecipitate (CRYO) for patients needing specific clotting factors, particularly fibrinogen, Factor VIII, and von Willebrand factor. CRYO is derived from fresh frozen plasma (FFP) and is critical in treating patients with bleeding disorders, such as hemophilia, or those undergoing surgery with significant blood loss. Stored at -18°C or colder, cryoprecipitate can be preserved for up to one year, ensuring its availability for emergency transfusions and routine clinical use when patients require rapid hemostatic support.

content

CRYO Poor Plasma

Cryo Poor plasma for patients who require a volume replacement without the clotting factors found in cryoprecipitate. This plasma, which remains after the cryoprecipitate is separated from fresh frozen plasma, is rich in electrolytes and proteins but has a lower concentration of clotting factors. It is ideal for patients needing plasma transfusions in cases such as liver disease, burns, or volume expansion. Cryo-poor plasma can be stored for up to one year at -18°C or colder, ensuring its availability for transfusion and therapeutic applications.

Cold Storage

Our Rotary Blood Bank features a dedicated Cold Storage Room, designed to provide optimal temperature conditions for the safe storage of blood and its components. This facility maintains strict temperature controls to preserve the integrity and viability of red blood cells, plasma, and platelets. Equipped with advanced monitoring systems, the Cold Storage Room ensures consistent temperatures and alerts staff to any deviations, enhancing safety and reliability. The secure environment is essential for compliance with health regulations and best practices in blood banking. By utilizing this Cold Storage Room, we are committed to safeguarding the quality of blood products for the benefit of our patients.
